I’ve been using the Find X9 Pro for a month now, and I really like the phone. While I wasn’t that keen on the design initially, it has proven to be easier to hold and use, and the weight distribution is ideal. What I’m particularly liking is the battery life, thanks to the huge 7,500mAh battery, the phone manages to last a day and a half even with heavy use.
It’s the cameras that make the Find X9 Pro truly stand out. In my Find X9 Pro review, I noted that the new imaging engine combined with the camera sensors gave the phone a distinct advantage over its predecessors, and this was immediately noticeable when using the phone as my go-to camera in a visit to Mexico earlier this month.
OPPO invited me to attend Día de Muertos, an annual Mexican celebration where communities come together to honor the dead. The two-day celebration included parades and face painting, and was the backdrop to test the cameras of the Find X9 Pro — so let’s get started.
The main camera is fantastic
The Find X9 Pro gets a new 50MP Sony LYT-828 imaging module as the main camera, and it is fabulous. It does a great job in daylight as well as challenging situations, delivering photos with good color vibrancy, dynamic range, and details.
What I like the most this year is the color science; OPPO did a good job tweaking the overall balance of the photos, and this is a definite plus point over the Find X8 Pro. This is evident in low-light shots, where the Find X9 Pro is able to deliver better colors than previous years.
The 3x zoom lens is one of the best around
The phone has a 2200MP Samsung HP5 3x module with OIS, and although there isn’t a dedicated 6x lens, it wasn’t an issue. The 3x lens takes detailed shots up to 10x, and I even got usable shots at 30x — albeit anything over 10x gets a sprinkling of AI.
Honestly, shots at 3x and 6x are noticeably better than last year, and the Find X9 Pro easily holds its own against the Vivo X300 Pro in this regard. That in itself is the highest praise I can give the phone, because Vivo utterly dominated this area in the last two years.

Detailed portrait shots are a given
Another advantage of having a high-quality zoom lens is portrait shots, and I got dozens of great photos out of the Find X9 Pro in the month I used the device. The phone does a good job with segmentation, and it doesn’t run into any issues even in challenging situations.
I took most of the shots at 3x as it uses the zoom lens, and the photos at 1x and 2x were just as detailed.
The wide-angle lens is better than previous years
If there’s one camera that stood out this year, it’s the wide-angle lens. While it’s using the same sensor as last year, it does a better job in just about every scenario, and it consistently delivers the same caliber of photos as the main lens.
In fact, I used the wide-angle lens predominantly in Mexico, and while it wasn’t quite on the same level as the main lens in low-light, it did an admirable job in all other situations.
Overall, the Find X9 Pro is proving to be a great all-rounder. The cameras are easily among the best of any phone, and while I mostly took photos, the phone does a much better job shooting videos this year. Combine that with top-tier internals, incredible battery life, a vibrant AMOLED panel, and overhauled software that’s actually good to use, and it’s easy to see why the Find X9 Pro is one of the best phones of 2025.
What’s just as exciting is that the Find X9 Pro is making its way to western countries, with the phone on sale in the U.K., Spain, and other markets in the region.
