A new video from Hardware Unboxed has just been released claiming that the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti is effectively end of life from here on out. It cites conversations it’s had with retailers and AIBs about the cards post-CES where both basically say that the RTX 5070 Ti cards that are out on the shelves right now are your lot. That’s it. Supply dead. No more coming.
Asus has apparently been explicit about this, stating to HUB that it has placed Asus RTX 5070 Ti cards into end-of-life (EoL) status due to the catastrophically low supply. “This model is currently facing a supply shortage and as such they have placed the model into end-of-life status.”
Other manufacturers have been less to-the-point about it, while still noting they have pretty much zero supply of the RTX 5070 Ti. For what it’s worth, this seems to be news to the Asus contacts I’ve spoken to, who certainly do not have a specific note about the card’s EoL status from HQ in Taiwan right now.
But of course, of course it’s all about the memory crisis, where AI infrastructure demands have put huge strain on the supply of memory for data centres and has subsequently had a huge impact on the prices of not just DRAM, but also NAND for SSDs, and crucially here VRAM for graphics cards.
And it makes absolute sense for the RTX 5070 Ti to be one of the tragic casualties of the RAMpocalypse on the GPU side. For one thing, it’s sporting 16 GB of expensive GDDR7 memory, but the main reason is that it’s using the same GB203 GPU that goes into the RTX 5080 card.
That has the same memory footprint, but right now is retailing for well over $1,200 at its cheapest. While you’re going to struggle to get one of the few RTX 5070 Ti cards still out in retail for under $800 today, that’s a big fiscal delta that retailers, AIBs, and yes, Nvidia, are all going to want to cash in on. So yeah, in a time of constrained supply you’d always want to push all your available resources towards your pricier prospect.
And hell, with the RTX 5080 going so far above its MSRP why wouldn’t you otherwise buy an RTX 5070 Ti? In my own testing, the card overclocks like a champ (yes, it’s a thing again) and without putting any undue strain on either the cooling or the power demands you can easily get within a single digit percentage performance difference between it and the RTX 5080.
It’s the smart choice for gamers, which is why it would be the smart choice for retailers/manufacturers to kill.
Although not explicitly stated as being EoL, the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB version is also said to be unlikely to see more production going forward, at least not with the memory prices being what they are. That leaves us with a bunch of 8 GB graphics cards for the rest of 2025 from Nvidia, with the 12 GB RTX 5070 potentially remaining as the only vaguely ‘proper’ mid-range GeForce GPU that is in any way attainable. At $540 that still doesn’t feel great, though.
What of AMD in all this? After all, three of its four RDNA 4 cards come with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, so is it feeling the pinch, too? Reportedly, there is no such concerns around end-of-life status for either the RX 9070 or RX 9070 XT cards, and with a ton of stock around for the 16 GB RX 9060 XT that doesn’t seem to be an issue.
But, while AMD’s Ryzen CPUs have really clawed into the market share of the previously dominant player in Intel, the Radeon GPUs have barely made any inroads into Nvidia’s position at the head of the graphics card table. Retailers don’t shift the same numbers of AMD GPUs as it does Nvidia, and so there is still relatively decent stock for the RDNA 4 cards.
That would be great if the opportunity to spike prices wasn’t being taken on their behalf, too, but that vaguely illusory $599 MSRP for the RX 9070 XT now translates into $700 at best. Still, the excellent AMD GPU will be completely unchallenged at that price point if/when the RTX 5070 Ti disappears from the shelves.
Though whether AMD would be able to keep up with a run on its 16 GB cards in terms of manufacturing, sating suddenly higher demand, will only be something we’ll know should it come to pass. But with gamers potentially eschewing the only 8 GB options on offer from Nvidia, I can see a lot of people being mighty tempted by what RDNA 4 can offer.
I’ve reached out to various AIBs to see if I can corroborate what HUB is suggesting myself and will update once I get any responses.
You’re working on an important project when your computer freezes. Again. The spinning cursor mocks you while your frustration builds. You’re not alone in this experience—studies show that the average office worker loses nearly 22 minutes each day waiting for slow computers to respond, and for many home users, the problem feels even worse.
A slow computer doesn’t just waste time; it disrupts your productivity, tests your patience, and can even put your data at risk. At PC Geeks, we’ve helped many clients diagnose and resolve performance issues, and we’ve noticed that most slow computers share a handful of common culprits. Understanding what’s actually happening inside your machine is the first step toward getting back to work without the wait.
Storage Space Running on Empty
Your hard drive needs breathing room to function properly. When your storage reaches 85% or more of its capacity, your computer struggles to perform basic operations like saving files or running programs. Windows and macOS both require temporary space to manage system operations, and without it, everything grinds to a halt.
Think of it like trying to work at a desk piled high with papers—you might know where everything is, but finding what you need takes considerably longer. Modern operating systems fare even worse under these conditions because they constantly write and rewrite temporary files as you work.
Too Many Programs at Startup
Every time you turn on your computer, dozens of programs might be launching themselves in the background. Some of these are necessary, but many are applications you installed months ago that helpfully decided they should run every single time you boot up. Each one consumes memory and processing power, leaving less available for the work you actually need to do.
This issue compounds over time as you install new software. Many programs default to automatic startup without clearly asking permission, and before long, your computer is spending several minutes just getting ready to be useful.
Malware and Unnecessary Software
Malicious software doesn’t always announce itself with obvious symptoms. Some malware operates quietly in the background, using your computer’s resources to mine cryptocurrency, send spam, or participate in distributed attacks. Even if you haven’t noticed anything suspicious, your slow performance might be the only visible sign that something’s wrong.
Similarly, legitimate software can become a problem when it runs constantly in the background. Browser extensions, system utilities, and optimization tools often promise to make your computer faster but end up doing the opposite by consuming resources while supposedly monitoring your system.
Outdated Hardware Meets Modern Demands
Software developers continually release updates that assume you have relatively recent hardware. Your five-year-old computer was perfectly adequate when you bought it, but today’s applications expect faster processors, more memory, and better graphics capabilities. This mismatch between old hardware and new software creates an increasingly noticeable performance gap.
The shift to web-based applications hasn’t helped as much as people expected. Modern websites run complex scripts and display high-resolution media that can tax older systems just as much as traditional software.
Fragmented or Failing Hard Drives
Traditional mechanical hard drives slow down as they age and accumulate fragmented files. When a file gets split across multiple locations on your drive, your computer needs extra time to gather all the pieces. Worse, hard drives have moving parts that eventually wear out, and a failing drive often shows its distress through dramatically slower performance long before it stops working entirely.
Solid-state drives avoid the fragmentation problem but can also slow down as they fill up or as their cells wear out from repeated use.
Getting Your Speed Back
Understanding why your computer struggles is empowering. Most slowdown causes have straightforward solutions, from clearing storage space and disabling unnecessary startup programs to upgrading specific components or removing malware. You don’t need to accept frustrating performance as inevitable. When your computer won’t cooperate, PC Geeks is here to help diagnose the problem and get you back to full speed. Contact us today for a comprehensive performance evaluation.
Actors, writers, producers, are getting murdered one by one in cold blood. No one is safe. Who is pulling the strings behind these apparently unrelated murders? Double-dealing, backstabbing, betrayal. Nothing is what it seems in the world of stars. Take a peek behind the curtains, learn what’s going on behind the glistering façade. Meet a varied cast of characters, discover their secrets and ambitions. Quarantine Zone: The Last Check
But be careful… they may end up in a body bag. Examine the crime scene, find clues, piece together what happened, find the culprit! Reveal what’s the true reason behind these Confidential Killings. You’ll have a few ‘ahah!’ moments, but they’re very much in-line with the usual gritty detective narrative: revenge, blackmail, scorn, killings gone awry.
Features and System Requirements:
Collect clues, analyze evidence, interrogate suspects, and piece together fragmented information to uncover the truth.
Your decisions influence the storyline, character relationships, and multiple possible endings.
Characters react to your actions, suspicion levels, and past decisions, making each playthrough feel different.

While Anthem wasn’t well-loved at launch, it wasn’t hated either. Steven Messner gave it a middling score of 55 in his review, which aligned with my own feeling of being a bit whelmed by a game with a clear identity crisis—a live service multiplayer game that wanted you and your friends to play strongholds together, but then return to a singleplayer hub where you’d have to shush during the story bits.
Even then Anthem had its diehards, and the patches and updates that followed addressed some of its more significant flaws. Not enough to save it unfortunately, but enough to guarantee a small but dedicated community of Freelancers who have suited up and returned to Fort Tarsis for the final day before EA pulls the plug on Anthem for good.
Our Lauren Morton is one of the players who logged on to say goodbye. “It’s not empty,” she says, “but it is quiet.” There are Twitch streamers running missions until the end, and high-level veterans “waving and jumping and emoting” around the Launch Bay. The subreddit is full of players sharing their last screenshots and achievement pop-ups and quoting Anthem’s tagline, “Strong alone, stronger together.”
They’re also praying for last-minute salvation, or an eventual revival via community-run private servers. As dinklebot117 points out, “avengers and suicide squad added offline modes before ending support. i believe redfall as well”. When a less optimistic player said, “Great, Redfall. For the 5 people still playing it”, dinklebot117 quite fairly replied, “bro we are in the anthem subreddit careful where you throw those stones”.
Anthem’s loss, whether it affects you or not, is another reason to value the message of the Stop Killing Games campaign. Messy though it was, Anthem had its fans, and now they’re losing access to a thing they paid for and supported through to the end.

I can’t pretend to be anything other than relieved that Stranger Things is over. While I enjoyed the first few seasons of its pulpy Spielberg pastiche, it ultimately became far too big for its Nike high tops. But if you still haven’t had enough of the gang explaining its preposterously convoluted plans to kill Vecna, you can carry on the adventure via Dead by Daylight, in the latest crossover for Behaviour Interactive’s multiplayer slash ’em up.
Titled Stranger Things: Chapter 2, the collab sees three more playable characters from the Duffer Brothers’ cultural megalith to join Steve and Nancy, who were added to the game back in 2019. On the survivor side, players can assume the roles of Eleven and Dustin, while sentient butcher’s shop window Vecna arrives as an all-new killer.
Vecna’s dimension manipulating powers enable him to travel undetected around the map via the Upside Down, bursting out back into reality to damage survivors. He can also conjure fleshy vines that will lash out at players. Eleven and Dustin, meanwhile, have their own unique skills to help them survive Vecna’s threat. Dustin can booby-trap windows after completing a certain amount of repairs, while Eleven’s extrasensory perception lets her see auras from further away after crouching for several seconds.
Dead by Daylight | Stranger Things Chapter 2 | Official Trailer – YouTube
The pack also adds two legendary outfits to Dead by Daylight, with Dustin able to don the denim-heavy guise of deceased metalhead Eddie Munson, while Chapter 1’s Nancy gets an outfit themed around Steve’s best pal Robin Buckley. There’s no legendary outfit for Eleven at present, though Steve can masquerade as Jonathan Byres in an outfit added in the first collaboration.
Ironically, this is far from the strangest licensing crossover the multiplayer slasher has done. May saw characters from The Witcher turn up in Behaviour Interactive’s game, while August weirdly brought characters from Assassin’s Creed Shadows into the slaughter.
2026 will see Dead by Daylight celebrate its tenth anniversary, with Behaviour having revealed a special Collector’s Edition and teased some bigger plans for celebrations at the end of last year. The studio spent most of 2025 working on a major quality of life initiative, after pushing back plans to expand the game to address “many longstanding concerns” voiced by players.
Stranger Things: Chapter 2 is currently available to play via Dead by Daylight’s public test build, with the official release taking place on January 27.
