Google Rolls Out Redesigned Voice Search on Android

Google has started to roll out a redesign of its voice search function on Android, retiring the four-dot waveform animation that has represented the feature for years. The new interface has a gradient Google ‘G’ logo with navigation buttons on the sides. When active listening is on, a four-color arc from AI Mode and Search Live appears, 9to5Google reports.

Google also changed its song search feature, replacing the previous globe animation with a larger “Search a song” button that can detect any tune you play, sing, or hum. The redesigned interface includes a shortcut in the top-right corner that lets users search their song-detection history.

Users can access the redesigned voice search from the microphone icon in the Google app, the search widget on home screens, or the Pixel Launcher on Pixel devices.
