In Visual Studio 2026 Insiders, while right clicking on my xUnit Test Project, and clicking to add a new file, I found this weird item template at the bottom which does not appear to be visible in Visual Studio 2022. It’s called “NUnit Test Item (Aleksei Kharlov aka halex2005 (censored link))”
From what I can say, this probably isn’t supposed to be here, because in parentheses, it includes some sort of link to a Russian website, which I made sure to censor. Since Visual Studio is an international product, Microsoft theoretically shouldn’t include item templates with these links.
I made sure to look into my installed Visual Studio extensions, but the only extensions I have are a few official theming extensions (Darcula and VS 2017 Blue by Mads Kristensen), and one of my own extensions that doesn’t include any item templates (which, by referencing, could be interpreted as advertisement, which I won’t do).
I also didn’t find it inside %Userprofile%\Documents\Visual Studio 18\Templates\ItemTemplates – there’s only one item, but that’s my own item template which just defines an exception template which I made for myself.
Can anyone let me know if this is item template actually comes bundled with Visual Studio 2026 insiders?
