Earlier this month, Sony shared an interview it performed with Last of Us co-creator and Naughty Dog studio head Neil Druckmann. In it, Druckmann was quoted as saying Naughty Dog’s next game “could redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming.” After the interview, Druckmann took to social media to clarify what he said and pointed out that he was misquoted.

In his actual response, Druckmann said little about Naughty Dog’s next game beyond, “It’s maybe the most excited I’ve been for a project yet.” He never made the statement that it could redefine the mainsteam perceptions of gaming. Instead, he spoke about the broad perception of gaming and how it seems to be changing thanks in part to the success of TV and movie adaptions like Fallout on Amazon, which he complimented. He also wrote that one of the reasons he worked hard on HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation was he hoped non-gamers would find the show and lead them to hopefully explore the medium of video games if they hadn’t before.
In response to Druckmann’s post sharing his original statement, the page hosting the interview has been changed. The interview is no longer online and now features a statement reading, “In re-reviewing our recent interview with Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, we have found several significant errors and inaccuracies that don’t represent his perspective and values (including topics such as animation, writing, technology, AI, and future projects). We apologize to Neil for misrepresenting his words and for any negative impact this interview might have caused him and his team. In coordination with Naughty Dog and SIE, we have removed the interview.”

In an interview with his parent company on Sony.com, Last of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann talks about AI and briefly teases Naughty Dog’s next game. Druckmann is expectedly vague about Naughty Dog’s next big project but offers an enticing tease, saying, “I’m eager to see how this new game resonates, especially following the success of The Last of Us, as it could redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming.”
The interview, however, primarily focuses on technology and how it improves and makes it easier for creators to tell unique stories. Regarding AI, Druckmann says, “AI is really going to revolutionize how content is being created, although it does bring up some ethical issues we need to address. With technologies like AI and the ability to do motion capture right from home, we’re reducing both costs and technical hurdles, opening the door for us to take on more adventurous projects and push the boundaries of storytelling in games.”
He also briefly touches on the future of The Last of Us TV show, citing that modern technology has allowed him to oversee the TV show’s second season remotely from Los Angeles while it shoots in Canada.

My colleagues and I are in the early stages of incrementally upgrading a large ASP.NET Web Forms enterprise app to ASP.NET Core, the supporting libraries will be upgraded to .NET Standard 2.0.
To help us we are using the.NET Upgrade Assistant extension in Visual Studio.
For the .NET Framework 4.7.2 => .NET Standard upgrade, we want to use the report feature to overview the issues to solve. However it seems we can only generate report with target .NET 6, 7, 8 etc.
I have looked around but did not find the correct documentation or an answer. Does anyone know if target Standard 2.0 report is supported? And in that case, how to generate it?
If unsupported, are there alternative tools? I know Microsoft has had other tools for porting, but I have lost track which are not obsolete tbh.
In VS we right click the solution, choose upgrade, choose new report, but there is no option for .NET Standard.

Avendus, the top investment bank for venture deals in India, confirmed on Wednesday it is looking to raise up to $350 million for its new private equity fund.
The new fund, called Future Leaders Fund III, will enable the Mumbai-headquartered firm to write larger checks and maintain a meaningful position in the startups it backs, said its managing partner Ritesh Chandra in an interview with TechCrunch. TechCrunch reported in early April that Avendus was putting together a plan to raise a new fund.
A regular fixture in most growth-stage deals in India, Avendus has established itself as the largest venture advisor for startups in the country. It provided services in over 30 deals last year, including merger and acquisition transactions, according to Venture Intelligence, a private market insight platform. The growing size of its private equity unit underscores the firm’s ambitions to extend its tentacles even more deeply into the ecosystem and see more upside from the winnings.
The firm’s rise to prominence was aided by the fact that many of its well-established global rivals, such as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and JP Morgan, initially paid less attention to the Indian market, allowing Avendus to gain a foothold and build relationships with the country’s burgeoning tech entrepreneurs.
Those relationships are also helping the firm’s private equity unit to gain access to some of the high-profile deals. Aside from lead backer SoftBank, the financial services startups Juspay and Zeta have allowed only Avendus on their cap tables, for instance. “These are businesses that came out of our relationships and networks,” said Chandra.
Avendus’ private equity unit, whose portfolio includes Delhivery, Lenskart, Licious, VerSe Innovation, Xpressbees, and the National Stock Exchange, has also earned a reputation for delivering large exits to its backers in a timely manner. LensKart and the National Stock Exchange, for instance, both delivered four times the money Avendus invested within four years of investments.
“Our fund’s lifecycle is five to six years. A problem with the Indian startup ecosystem is that investors have poured a lot of capital [into it] but don’t see returns for a long period of time. We are focused on how do we get our money back,” Chandra said.
Despite the growing trend of tech startups in India going public, a phenomenon that was uncommon just four years ago, investors cannot solely rely on IPOs for returns. According to Chandra, Avendus has established relationships that enable the company to exit its positions by selling stakes to late-stage investors, such as sovereign investors, providing an alternative avenue for generating returns apart from IPOs.
An anonymous reader quotes a report from the New York Times: The defense lawyer minced no words as he addressed a room full of plastic-industry executives. Prepare for a wave of lawsuits with potentially “astronomical” costs. Speaking at a conference earlier this year, the lawyer, Brian Gross, said the coming litigation could “dwarf anything related to asbestos,” one of the most sprawling corporate-liability battles in United States history. Mr. Gross was referring to PFAS, the “forever chemicals” that have emerged as one of the major pollution issues of our time. Used for decades in countless everyday objects — cosmetics, takeout containers, frying pans — PFAS have been linked to serious health risks including cancer. Last month the federal government said several types of PFAS must be removed from the drinking water of hundreds of millions of Americans. “Do what you can, while you can, before you get sued,” Mr. Gross said at the February session, according to a recording of the event made by a participant and examined by The New York Times. “Review any marketing materials or other communications that you’ve had with your customers, with your suppliers, see whether there’s anything in those documents that’s problematic to your defense,” he said. “Weed out people and find the right witness to represent your company.”
A wide swath of the chemicals, plastics and related industries are gearing up to fight a surge in litigation related to PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a class of nearly 15,000 versatile synthetic chemicals linked to serious health problems. Last year, 3M agreed to pay at least $10 billion to water utilities across the United States that had sought compensation for cleanup costs. Thirty state attorneys general have also sued PFAS manufacturers, accusing the manufacturers of widespread contamination. But experts say the legal battle is just beginning. Under increasing scrutiny are a wider universe of companies that use PFAS in their products. This month, plaintiffs filed a class-action lawsuit against Bic, accusing the razor company for failing to disclose that some of its razors contained PFAS. Bic said it doesn’t comment on pending litigation, and said it had a longstanding commitment to safety.
The Biden administration has moved to regulate the chemicals, for the first time requiring municipal water systems to remove six types of PFAS. Last month, the Environmental Protection Agency also designated two of those PFAS chemicals as hazardous substances under the Superfund law, shifting responsibility for their cleanup at contaminated sites from taxpayers to polluters. Lamond, an attorney who focuses on environmental litigation at the law firm Cole Schotz. “Take tobacco, asbestos, MTBE, combine them, and I think we’re still going to see more PFAS-related litigation,” she said, referring to methyl tert-butyl ether, a former harmful gasoline additive that contaminated drinking water. Together, the trio led to claims totaling hundreds of billions of dollars. Unlike tobacco, used by only a subset of the public, “pretty much every one of us in the United States is walking around with PFAS in our bodies,” said Erik Olson, senior strategic director for environmental health at the Natural Resources Defense Council. “And we’re being exposed without our knowledge or consent, often by industries that knew how dangerous the chemicals were, and failed to disclose that,” he said. “That’s a formula for really significant liability.”

Starting with a strong word like LEASH—something containing multiple vowels, common consonants, and no repeat letters—is a good place to start. Once you hit Enter, the boxes will show you which letters you’ve got right or wrong. If a box turns ⬛️, it means that letter isn’t in the secret word at all. 🟨 means the letter is in the word, but not in that position. 🟩 means you’ve got the right letter in the right spot.
Your second go should compliment the starting word, using another “good” guess to cover any common letters you missed last time while also trying to avoid any letter you now know for a fact isn’t present in today’s answer.
