Sound in Motion Hosts MELLODEATH Mall of America Popup and Sold out Show

Home Business Magazine Online

Spring is an exciting time for EDM enthusiasts in Minneapolis. The weather is warming up, the walks to and from the concert venues are getting easier, and summer festival season is right around the corner. It is the perfect time to start marking up the calendars with the must-see music events around the Twin Cities, many of which are expertly produced and put on by Sound in Motion, the Twin Cities’ premier music production company. SIMShows recently made EDM history by hosting 2 massively successful events for MELLODEATH, a pseudonym for the collaboration between two of the biggest names in EDM music —SYDDEN DEATH and Marshmello. They organized both a popup DJ set at Mall of America, the biggest mall in the country, and an exhilerating sold-out show at The Armory, the most popular music venue in Minneapolis.

SIMShows started out the exciting day by arranging a popup event at Mall of America. This legendary daytime DJ set is the first Sound in Motion has hosted at the colossal 4 story megamall. They certainly didn’t disappoint — hundreds of hardcore headbangers took to the GA pit for 4 hours of energizing DJ sets, with MELLODEATH taking the stage halfway through the event. With malls all over the country losing business and even having to close down altogether, this was the perfect event to bring life back to the dying mall industry. Not only did it cause EDM music lovers from all over the Twin Cities metro area to flock to the iconic Mall, but it also introduced thousands of daily MOA shoppers who may not listen to or follow EDM music to the headbanging PLUR culture. It was a genius marketing strategy for both sides! This will certainly not be the last pop-up music event Sound in Motion puts on.

After all the excitement of the big pop-up at the Mall of America, it was hard to imagine an even bigger event happening later that night. Luckily for MELLODEATH fans, there was still an electrifying sold-out show to look forward to at the Armory in Minneapolis! The long night of fun started with energetic beats from the up-and-coming DJ MUNK. The sold-out crowd then got a musical punch in the neck when YVM3 took the stage with his intense mix of screamo and headbang-worthy drops. Finally, no stranger to Minneapolis, VIRTUAL RIOT took the stage to the eager Minneapolis crowd ready to welcome him back. The German DJ hyped the sold-out crowd to maximum levels with his mix of the popular genre riddim, future bass, electro house, and even sprinkles of melodic bass. The bassheads in the crowd certainly were given all the headbang-worthy drops they could dream of with these three openers.

Finally, to the screaming sold-out Armory crowd’s delight, MELLODEATH took the stage. Marshmello and SVDDEN DEATH are no strangers to the energetic Minneapolis crowd, but the collaboration between the two DJ giants created an EDM music experience unlike any Minneapolis had seen before. Not only are their drops both electrifying, brain pulsing, and perfectly timed to the average headbanger’s rhythm, but the stage production was on a unique caliber all of its own. The stage was split into two horizontal levels, with SVDDEN DEATH on the bottom and MarshMELLO above. There were also two levels of lights and lasers between the two artists. This unique separation during the collaboration likely made for a very challenging production — one only a truely top-notch production company could accomplish. Sound in Motion not only made it possible for the MELLODEATH vision to come to life, but the show went on seamlessly with seemingly no delays or visual mistakes. The visuals on the two-tiered screens never faltered, the crisp lasers danced around the venue, the colorful lights pulsated to each energizing beat, and there were even small fireworks let off during a few bass-heavy drops. SIMShows truly outdid themselves by orchestrating this incredible stage production. It was truly a night of EDM to remember.

The best deals for Star Wars Day 2024: Lego sets, games, and more

Peruse these awesome deals on Star Wars stuff, you must, because today is May the Fourth. Fans of Lucasfilm’s iconic franchise have long celebrated this day as a kind of borderline-religious holiday of sorts, one that recognizes an ever-growing franchise that has been adapted for almost every type of media — and product — you can think of.

Since its debut in ‘77, Star Wars lore has been doled out in films, TV series, books and graphic novels, video games, and plenty of other mediums we’re surely oblivious to. It’s also inspired board games, toys, apparel, and enough merch to fill a galaxy far, far away. Many retailers commemorate May 4th by discounting the latter, and we’ve gone deep into the heap so you can see all of the best Star Wars Day deals in one place.

Star Wars Day Lego deals

Lego is one of the biggest purveyors of Star Wars toys. The brand has blocky replicas of all sorts of iconic ships and gear, including AT-AT walkers, starfighters, and even our good friend Chewbacca. In addition to direct discounts, Lego is offering free gifts when you spend over a certain threshold. For example, you can get a 75-piece AAT set (usually $5) when you spend $40 or more, along with a Trade Federation Troop Carrier set (usually $29.99) when you spend $160 or more. If you have a free Lego Insiders account, you can also get a collectible pin depicting the Battle of Yavin (normally $14.99) when you spend $90 or more.

In addition to the freebies, Lego’s rewards program also nets you discounts on a host of exclusive sets — including a 2,319-piece Chewbacca, which is currently on sale for $164.99 ($35 off) via Lego’s online storefront. Coincidentally, that single purchase could net you all of the aforementioned freebies. You can also save $15 on the Emperor’s Throne Room Diorama, which brings it down to $84.99. To redeem either deal, however, you’ll need to go to Lego’s Insiders hub, sign up, and sign in if you haven’t already.

The Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon set is a 1,351-piece build depicting Han Solo’s iconic YT-1300 Corellian light freighter. It features numerous movable parts — including rotating turrets, a ramp, and an opening cockpit — plus several iconic characters.

  • You can save 20 percent on a brick-ified TIE Bomber at Amazon, Target, and Best Buy, which drops it to $51.99 ($13 off). The set includes 625 pieces to build the lesser-known TIE vessel, as well as figurines of its pilot, Darth Vader, Vice Admiral Sloane, and a “Gonk” power droid.
  • Amazon, Best Buy, and Target are all selling a model of Din Djarin’s menacing helmet from The Mandalorian for $55.99 ($14 off), which matches its best price to date. The 584-piece build also comes with its own display stand, allowing you to easily showcase the 7-inch beskar bust on your desk or shelf.
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter is currently on sale at Amazon, Walmart, and Target for $23.99 ($6 off). The 282-piece kit comes with everything you need to construct the Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor — aka, Obi-Wan’s ship in Attack of the Clones — plus figurines of Taun We, an R4-P17 droid, and Obi-Wan himself.

Star Wars Day gaming deals

We’re in something of a golden age when it comes to the relationship between films and video games. More game franchises are being adapted to film and TV series with great success (ahem, The Last of Us), and the reverse has been true for a while now. Star Wars games were some of the earliest success stories in that regard, but newer titles like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have taken the quality to another level. That particular game is down to $29.99 ($40 off) at Amazon (PS5 / Xbox), Best Buy (PS5 / Xbox), and Target (PS5 / Xbox).

Survivor continues the original story of Cal Kestis, who is one of the few remaining survivors of the Jedi Order after Order 66 nearly drove it into extinction. The adventure title, which borrows inspiration from Dark Souls in that you lose experience points upon death, directly follows the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (which also happens to be down to $3.99 for , PS5, and ).

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the captivating sequel to 2019’s Fallen Order, one that continues the story of Cal Kestis and his little droid, BD-1. It’s an action-adventure game blending elements of games like Tomb Raider, Metroid, and God of War with Dark Souls— except you’re a Jedi with a lightsaber.

  • Best Buy is selling Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for Xbox for $15.99 ($14 off) and PS4 for $9.99 ($10 off). Lego’s latest Star Wars game offers a fully interactive recap of all nine films from the series’ three core trilogies and remains one of the most enjoyable ways to relive the story. Be warned, however, that it may be hard to follow if you haven’t seen the films.
  • The PC edition of Star Wars Battlefront II: Celebration Edition is on sale for only $4.79 (about $35 off) via . The fun shooter lets you take control of series favorites like Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, and more. You’ll get more than 200 cosmetics as part of the bundle, including trooper and hero skins, emotes, and voice lines that includes Battlefront II, the dogfighter Star Wars Squadrons, and Fallen Order for $9.06, which is about $120 off compared to the original prices for all three games.
  • Humble’s May the Fourth sale features a bunch of discounted PC classics starting at just 74 cents. Some must-plays include the Knights of the Old Republic and The Force Unleashed games, but you can pick up nearly two dozen titles for $54.99 (45 percent off).

Star Wars Day tech deals

Personally, I love Nanoleaf’s Small Baby Gu Bundle, which is available from right now for $224.98 ($75 off). The 17-panel starter kit includes just enough panels to assemble a replica of Baby Yoda’s head, though, if you ever get bored of the green fella’s pigmentation or design, Nanoleaf makes it easy to mix and match shapes from other bundles.

The modular lighting kit features Shapes Hexagons and Shapes Mini Triangles, both of which can react to light and sound. They’re also Matter-over-Thread-ready — meaning they’re compatible with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Home — and can mirror the colors on your display with the help of Nanoleaf’s desktop app.

Nanoleaf’s light panels come in distinct shapes that make it easy to connect them in a variety of fun patterns. The panels support up to 16 billion colors and a number of lighting scenes, which can react to music, touch, and your monitor. This set is designed to depict Grogu’s head.

Speaking of Grogu, Amazon is offering its fifth-gen Echo Dot in black or white with a stand shaped like his head for $55.98 ($22 off). The latest clock-equipped model is also on sale at Amazon in white with a Grogu stand for $67.98 ($20 off). Alternatively, if you already own an Echo Dot, you can buy the stand at Amazon separately for $24.99 ($3 off).

It’s a fifth-gen Echo Dot. With a Grogu stand. Will your kids love it or think it’s nightmare fuel?

  • It’s not on sale, sure, but Amazon is also selling another Star Wars-themed Echo Dot stand, one that resembles a Stormtrooper helmet, for $39.99.

This expansion brings the total board membership to eight, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s governance.

The transition comes after Altman’s earlier removal, which stirred discussions within the tech community.

Alongside Altman, the inclusion of Desmond-Hellmann, Seligman, and Simo addresses past criticism regarding the board’s diversity and decision-making processes. These new members are renowned for their leadership across various sectors, promising to bring a wealth of experience to OpenAI.

Their appointments follow a period of introspection for OpenAI, triggered by external criticism over the board’s composition and internal concerns about leadership styles. The company has faced scrutiny over its rapid growth and the ethical implications of AI development.

This has led to calls for more transparent and responsible leadership, to which OpenAI has responded with this latest announcement.

Desmond-Hellmann brings a rich background in healthcare and innovation, having led the Gates Foundation and contributed to advancements in cancer treatment.

Seligman, known for her legal acumen and corporate governance experience, has represented high-profile clients and led Sony Entertainment.

Simo, with her deep roots in technology and social media at Meta and now at Instacart, adds a contemporary perspective on consumer tech and innovation.

This reshaping of the board aims to address previous criticisms and guide OpenAI through the complex landscape of AI development and regulation. The company emphasizes that the diverse experiences of the new members will play a crucial role in navigating ethical, legal, and societal challenges.

Moreover, the reinstatement of Altman, following an investigation into his earlier removal, signals a renewed confidence in his leadership.

OpenAI highlights this as a step towards stabilizing its leadership structure and ensuring a focused pursuit of its mission to ensure artificial general intelligence benefits humanity.

In response to calls for better governance, OpenAI has introduced new corporate guidelines, including a conflict of interest policy, a whistleblower hotline, and additional board committees.

These measures aim to strengthen accountability and foster an environment where innovation is balanced with ethical responsibility.

Is VR & AR the Future of Remote Work?

Have you spent much time in VR yet?

Recently I’ve been trying out and testing different use cases for VR when it comes to remote work,  engineering, design, and general day-to-day tasks.

I feel like VR and AR are much more commonplace in the major tech sectors and still flying pretty under the radar when it comes to construction and engineering. Over the last year though  I’ve started to hear it come up in general work meetings and seen a few convincing demos that the tech is finally at or close to a point where it will start coming into our industry.

I asked this same kind of question on Twitter here and got a variety of responses, with many of them being in favor of using VR for productivity and remote work cases.  I even posted this video below showing my personal workspace setup for Fusion modeling or general productivity and work within VR and I can honestly say I quite enjoy it.

Metrics, Process and Best Practices

Editor’s note: In the article, Irene reveals some tips on how a company can measure and improve the quality of their data. If you want to organize your data management process promptly and correctly, we at ScienceSoft are ready to share and implement our best practices. For more information, check our data management services.

One of the crucial rules of using data for business purposes is as simple as this: the quality of your decisions strongly depends on the quality of your data. However, simply knowing it isn’t extremely helpful. To get tangible results, you should measure the quality of your data and act on these measurements to improve it. Here, we throw some light on complicated data quality issues and share tips on how to excel in resolving them.

How to define data quality: attributes, measures and metrics

It would be right to start this section with a universally recognized definition of data quality. But here comes the first trouble: there is none. In this respect, we can rely on our 34-year experience in data analytics and take the liberty to offer our own definition: data quality is the state of data, which is tightly connected with its ability (or inability) to solve business tasks. This state can be either “good” or “bad”, depending on to what extent data corresponds to the following attributes:

  • Consistency
  • Accuracy
  • Completeness
  • Auditability
  • Orderliness
  • Uniqueness
  • Timeliness.

To reveal what’s behind each attribute, our data management team put together this table and filled it with illustrative examples based on customer data. We also mentioned sample metrics that can be chosen to get quantifiable results while measuring these data quality attributes.

Data quality attributes

An important remark: for big data, not all the characteristics are 100% achievable. So, if you are a big data company, you may be interested in checking the specifics of big data quality management.

Why low data quality is a problem

Do you think that the whole problem of poor data quality is exaggerated and the attributes considered above are not worth the attention they’ve been given? We’re going to provide real-life examples of what impact low-quality data can have on business processes.

Unreliable info

A manufacturer thinks that they know the exact location of the truck transporting their finished products from the production site to the distribution center. They optimize routing, estimate delivery time, etc. And it turns out that the location data is wrong. The truck arrives later, which disrupts the normal workflow at the distribution center. Not to mention routing recommendations that turned out useless.

Incomplete data

Say, you are working to optimize your supply chain management. To assess suppliers and understand which ones are disciplined and trustworthy and which ones are not, you track the delivery time. But unlike scheduled delivery time, the actual delivery time field is not mandatory in your system. Naturally, your warehouse employees usually forget to key it in. Not knowing this critical information (having incomplete data), you fail to understand how your suppliers perform.

Ambiguous data interpretation

A machinery maintenance system may have a field called “Breakdown reason” intended to help identify what caused the failure. Usually, it takes the form of a drop-down menu and includes the “Other” option. As a result, a weekly report may say that in 80% of cases the machinery failure was caused by the “Other” reason. Thus, a manufacturer can experience low overall equipment efficiency without being able to learn how to improve it.

Duplicated data

At a first glance, duplicated data may not pose a challenge. But in fact, it can become a serious issue. For example, if a customer appears more than once in your CRM, it not only takes up additional storage but also leads to a wrong customer count. Additionally, duplicated data weakens marketing analysis: it disintegrates a customer’s purchasing history and, consequently, makes the company unable to understand customer needs and segment customers properly.

Outdated information

Imagine that a customer once completed a retailer’s questionnaire and stated that they did not have children. However, time passed – and now they have a newborn baby. The happy parents are ready to spend their budget on diapers, baby food and clothes, but is our retailer aware of that? Is this customer included in “Customers with babies” segment? No to both. This is how obsolete data may result in wrong customer segmentation, poor knowledge of the market and lost profit.

Late data entry/update

Late data entries and updates may negatively affect data analysis and reporting, as well as your business processes. An invoice sent to the wrong address is a typical example to illustrate the case. And to spice the story up even more, here’s another example on asset tracking. The system can state that the cement mixer is unavailable at the moment only because the responsible employee is several hours late with updating its status.

Want to avoid the consequences of poor data quality?

ScienceSoft offers services ranging from consulting to implementation to help you tune your data quality management process and ensure your decision-making won’t suffer from low data quality.

Best practices of data quality management

As the consequences of poor data quality can appear disruptive, it’s critical to learn what the remedies are. Here, we share best practices that can help you improve the quality of your data.

  • Making data quality a priority

The first step is to make data quality improvement a high priority and ensure that every employee understands the problems that low data quality brings. Sounds quite simple. However, incorporating data quality management into business processes requires multiple serious steps:

  1. Designing an enterprise-wide data strategy.
  2. Creating clear user roles with rights and accountability.
  3. Setting up a data quality management process (we’ll explain it in detail later in the article).
  4. Having a dashboard to monitor the status quo.

Data quality management dashboard

A typical root cause for poor data quality is manual data entries: by employees, by customers or even by multiple users. Thus, companies should think how to automate data entry processes in order to reduce human error. Whenever the system can do something automatically (for example, autocompletes, call or e-mail logs), it is worth implementing.

  • Preventing duplicates, not just curing them

A well-known truth is that it is easier to prevent a disease than cure it. You can treat duplicates in the same way! On the one hand, you can just regularly clean them. On the other hand, you can create duplicate detection rules. They allow identifying that a similar entry already exists in the database and forbid creating another one or suggest merging the entries.

  • Taking care of both master and metadata

Nursing your master data is extremely important, but you shouldn’t forget about your metadata either. For example, without time stamps that metadata reveals, companies won’t be able to control data versions. As a result, they could extract obsolete values for their reports, instead of updated ones.

Data quality management: process stages described

Data quality management is a setup process, which is aimed at achieving and maintaining high data quality. Its main stages involve the definition of data quality thresholds and rules, data quality assessment, data quality issues resolution, data monitoring and control.

To provide as clear an explanation as possible, we’ll go beyond theory and explain each stage with an example based on customer data. Here is a sample snippet from a database:

Data quality management database sample

1. Define data quality thresholds and rules

If you think there’s only one option – perfect data that is 100% compliant with all data quality attributes (in other words, 100% consistent, 100% accurate, and so on) – you may be surprised to know that there are more scenarios than that. First, reaching 100% everywhere is an extremely cost- and effort-intensive endeavor, so normally companies decide what data is critical and focus on several data quality attributes that are most applicable to this data. Second, a company not always needs 100% perfect data quality, sometimes they can do with the level that is ‘good enough.’ Third, if you need various levels of quality for various data, you may set various thresholds for different fields. Now, you may have a question: how to measure if the data meets these thresholds or not? For that, you should set data quality rules.

Now, when the theory part is over, we’re switching to a practical example.

Say, you decide that the customer full name field is critical for you, and you set a 98% quality threshold for it, while the date of birth field is of lesser importance, and you’ll be satisfied with 80% threshold. As a next step, you decide that customer full name must be complete and accurate, and the date of birth must be valid (that is to say, it should comply with the orderliness attribute). As you’ve chosen several data quality attributes for the customer full name, all of them should hit a 98% quality threshold.

Now you set data quality rules that you think will cover all the chosen data quality attributes. In our case, these are the following:

  • Customer full name must not be N/A (to check completeness).
  • Customer full name must include at least one space (to check accuracy).
  • Customer name must consist only of letters, no figures allowed (to check accuracy).
  • Only first letters in customer name, middle name (if any) and surname must be capitalized (to check accuracy).
  • Date of birth must be a valid date that falls into the interval from 01/01/1900 to 01/01/2010.

2. Assess the quality of data

Now, it’s time to have a look at our data and check whether it meets the rules we set. So, we start profiling data or, in other words, getting statistical information about it. That’s how it works: we have 8 individual records (although your real data set is certainly much bigger than that) that we check against our first rule Customer full name must not be N/A. All the records comply with the rule, which means that data is 100% complete.

To measure data accuracy, we have 3 rules:

  • Customer full name must include at least one space.
  • Customer name must consist only of letters, no figures allowed.
  • Only first letters in customer name, middle name (if any) and surname must be capitalized.

Again, we do data profiling, for each of the rules, and we get the following results: 100%, 88% and 88% (below, we’ve highlighted the records non-compliant to the data accuracy rule). In total, we have only 92%, which is also under our 98% threshold.

Data quality management accuracy check

As for the date of birth field, we’ve identified two data records that don’t comply with the rule we set. So, data quality for this field is as high as 75%, which is also below the threshold.

Data quality management orderliness check

3. Resolve data quality issues

At this stage, we should think what caused the issues to eliminate their root cause. In our example, we identified several problems for the customer full name field that can be solved by introducing clear standards for manual data entries, as well as data quality-related key performance indicators for the employees responsible for keying data into a CRM system.

In the example with the date of birth field, the data entered was not validated against the date format or range. As a temporary measure, we clean and standardize the data. But to avoid such mistakes in the future, we should set a validation rule in the system that will not accept a date unless it complies with the format and range.

4. Monitor and control data

Data quality management is not a one-time effort, rather a non-stop process. You need to regularly review data quality policies and rules with the intent to continuously improve them. This is a must, as the business environment is constantly changing. Say, one day a company may opt for enriching their customer data by purchasing and integrating an external data set that contains demographic data. So, probably, they’ll have to come up with new data quality rules, as an external data set can contain the data they haven’t dealt with so far.

Categories of data quality tools

To address various data quality issues, companies should consider not one tool but a combination of them. For example, Gartner names the following categories:

  • Parsing and standardization tools break the data into components and bring them to a unified format.
  • Cleaning tools remove incorrect or duplicated data entries or modify the values to meet certain rules and standards.
  • Matching tools integrate or merge closely related data records.
  • Profiling tools gather stats about data and later use it for data quality assessment.
  • Monitoring tools control the status-quo of data quality.
  • Enrichment tools bring in external data and integrate it into the existing data.

Currently, the market can boast a long list of data quality management tools. The trick is that some of them focus on a certain category of data quality issues, while others cover several aspects. To pick the right tools, you should either dedicate significant time to research or let professional consultants do this job for you.

Boundless data quality management squeezed into one paragraph

Data quality management guards you from low-quality data that can totally discredit your data analytics efforts. However, to do data quality management right, you should keep in mind many aspects. Choosing the metrics to assess data quality, selecting the tools, and describing data quality rules and thresholds are just several important steps. Hopefully, this complicated task can be fulfilled with professional assistance. At ScienceSoft, we are happy to back up your data quality management project at any stage, just let us know.

Don’t allow low-quality data or faulty ETL processes discredit your business decisions. Make sure that your data is reliable, integrated and secure.

The KY-PZ540 Series supports streaming across various resolutions, delivering up to 60p in 4K UHD and 1080p and 720p in HD. While HD-SDI outputs are capped at 1080p, HDMI can handle 4K streaming effortlessly. Notably, the cameras feature UVC (USB Video Class) and NDI HX3 capabilities in the KY-PZ540N model, facilitating seamless network sharing and enhanced accessibility of video streams.

One of the standout features is the incorporation of H.265/HEVC compression technology, enabling efficient 4K 60p streaming—particularly advantageous for live sports and events coverage, offering improved image quality at reduced bitrates compared to H.264. The KY-PZ540 cameras leverage multi-slice encoding technology to optimize performance and minimize latency in 4K 60p HEVC mode.

Another highlight is the subject auto-tracking functionality, offering five distinct settings: Standard, Area, Stage, Wide Area, and Fine Adjustment. These settings empower users to customize tracking parameters based on specific shooting scenarios, ensuring subjects remain sharply focused and precisely framed throughout.

In summary, JVC’s KY-PZ540 Series PTZ Cameras are exceptionally well-suited for large event spaces, stage performances, sports coverage, and places of worship owing to their exceptional zoom capabilities and advanced auto-tracking features. Priced starting at $1,999, these cameras represent a compelling investment for individuals seeking to elevate their PTZ systems or establish new setups, offering unmatched versatility across various streaming and connectivity requirements. This blog post illuminates the innovative features and practical benefits of JVC’s acclaimed KY-PZ540 Series, positioning it as an indispensable tool for videographers and content creators seeking unparalleled performance in the world of PTZ cameras.

c++ – How do I setup two platforms for an exe and lib using cmake?

With cmake, I am trying to create a Visual Studio 2022 solution that supports two platforms for an exe and lib. The first platform being x64, and the second being a second platform called “tools”.

The approach for doing this that I read has said to create a CMakeLists.txt, then make a CMakeLists for each project per platform. However, when attempting that approach, it is not possible due to them having the same exe name from add_executable (or same library name, through add_library). However, I would want them to have the same name. What I would like to know, how can I support two different platforms inside of a solution while maintaining the same exe or lib name?

If it is impossible to have both platforms in one solution, then what is the recommended solution? Do I have a solution per platform and in my exe and libs CMakeLists.txt I set what platform to use based upon a drop down from my CMake gui?

As an example, here is my current setp

CMakeLists.txt

cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 3.28)

project(GlobalProject)

add_subdirectory(Testing-tools)
add_subdirectory(Testing-x64)

Testing-tools\CMakeLists.txt

cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 3.28)

set(CMAKE_GENERATOR_PLATFORM tools)

project(Testing-tools CXX)

add_executable(TestFlags ../main.cpp)

Testing-x64\CMakeLists.txt

cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 3.28)

set(CMAKE_GENERATOR_PLATFORM x64tools)

project(Testing-x64 CXX)

add_executable(TestFlags ../main.cpp)

ICONIQ Growth raises $5.75B seventh flagship fund

ICONIQ Growth has raised $5.21 billion across two funds associated with the seventh growth fund family, according to SEC filings. However, the firm’s actual fundraise was $5.75 billion, according to a source familiar with the firm.

The late-stage investment unit is a part of ICONIQ Capital, which launched in 2011 as a private office managing capital of some of the most prominent and wealthiest people in tech, including Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey, has met its target of $5.75 billion, according to meeting information from New Mexico State Investment Council, the Wall Street Journal reported in March 2022.

ICONIQ Growth didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

The fund size is a substantial increase from Iconiq’s Fund VI target of $3.75 billion.

ICONIQ Growth’s latest fund haul is impressive, given that many other large-growth investors failed to reach their targets by a long shot. Most notably, Tiger Global closed its latest venture capital fund at $2.2 billion, the firm’s smallest fund since 2014, Bloomberg reported. Tiger initially planned to raise $6 billion, less than half its predecessor vehicle of $12.7 billion the firm closed in March 2022.

The two giant funds aren’t in exactly the same position. Tiger Global was widely criticized for investing capital too quickly at exorbitant prices during the 2020 and 2021 tech boom (though it always pushed back on the idea that it was overpaying). And, unlike Tiger Global, which has been actively selling secondary stakes to realize liquidity, ICONIQ Growth has been shopping for secondary positions, according to two sources.

The entity’s fundraise likely means that its backers are relatively pleased with the firm’s investment strategy.

ICONIQ Growth has realized several dozen exits from its portfolio in recent years, including the IPOs of Snowflake, Airbnb, GitLab and HashiCorp, according to PitchBook data. In 2023, ICONIQ Growth invested $1.1 billion into 22 companies, it says, and its portfolio includes startups like Drata, Canva, Ramp, ServiceTitan, Writer and Pigment.

The firm’s Fund VII-B has raised $3.95 billion from 291 investors, while Fund VII closed on $1.26 billion from 462 backers, according to regulatory filings.

ICONIQ Growth’s seventh vehicle will invest in 20 to 25 tech companies,  according to meeting information from New Mexico State Investment Council, Buyouts Insider reported reported in March 2022.
